The first Lutheran service held in Colville was on December 8, 1946. The first Sunday School class was held November 30, 1947. Official organization of St. Paul Lutheran occurred February 15, 1948. The building site and a parsonage were purchased in 1949. In 1950 the first confirmation class was organized, as well as the Luther League and Brotherhood. The church was also dedicated that year.
